One of the main reasons God established seed time and harvest was to continue things that were used and to continue things that perished.
The funny thing about scripture is the Father had the Holy Spirit be so evident in some areas that there is no doubt about what he is saying, then in other areas, the Holy Spirit says some things in such a way it seems to foster differences of opinions. He did that to keep us searching the scriptures.
There are basically three viewpoints on the earth now about prosperity. Some believe that one of God's desires is to cause us to prosper financially. Then you have those who believe that wanting more than your needs met opens the door to the spirit of Greed. Then there are those who believe that financial prosperity is proper biblical teaching as long as you don’t allow it to become more important than spiritual matters.
Well, I believe they all are right, but the important thing is to glean the right teaching or
perspective from each viewpoint. Bible teaching is like climbing a mountain. You go up one side of the mountain, you have a different view, you go up the other side, there is an entirely different view. Are you on the same mountain? Yes, different views of the same mountain, just like spiritual views, however, the important thing to remember concerning spiritual things is they must all agree
Prosperity of Happiness
Psalm 84:11
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no
good thing will me withhold from those who walk uprightly.
No good thing means the same as favor in the Old Testament, and the same meaning is stated with the word grace in the New Testament. In other words, the Father will not withhold anything from us that makes us happy. We are speaking of true happiness, and he wants us to be prosperous in happiness.
And because we are more than spiritual beings, God wants us to be prosperous in our souls,
emotions, and our bodies. What gives us happiness in our spirit and soul is not the same thing that gives us happiness in our bodies.
Psalm 34:8
8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusted in him.
Psalm 106:1
1 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for
ever.
Psalm 119:68
68 Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.
The word translated good in these verses is the word that includes the meaning of
happiness. These is just some examples that prove our Father is prospering in happiness, and he wants us to as well.
You know there are different rankings amongst the angels, and it only speaks of responsibilities they have in an orderly and disciplined way. and at present, we have an equal position or worth with our father, and one day we will be as the angels, but at present, we all the saints in heaven and on the earth worship in the presence of our father as one, Which leads us to the prosperity of Worship.
Prosperity of Worship
Now remember neither one of these types of prosperity has anything to do with how much
money a person has.
Luke 19:28-48
28 And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.
29 And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
30 Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? Thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
32 And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.
33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?
34 And they said, The Lord hath need of him.
35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all The mighty works that they had seen;
38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and
glory in the highest.
39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and
compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side
44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not
leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
45 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and
them that bought;
46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
47 And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
48 And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
Now, the reason this speaks of the prosperity of Worship because the people were who were
from many different backgrounds and levels of society were able to put away all of their
differences to worship the lord. There are many prejudices that keep us apart racial, economic, water baptisms, communion, ect.
We have yet to learn when we rise above these things and come together with each other and the angels, and that we all have an equal position or worth before our father, we will begin to enter into Prosperity of Worship.
What is the definition of the Prosperity of Worship it is the worship that takes place when we as believers, though many, become the one earthly body of our Lord.
Psalm 147:1
1 Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise
is comely.
In this verse, remember the word good is the happy quality of our Father, and the word
pleasant is when happiness becomes a part of us. This happens when we sing praises that is in the worship of our Father. So, prosperity of worship is when the happiness of our Father
becomes a part of the life of the Worshipper.
Psalm 92:1-4
1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most
High:
2 To shew forth thy loving kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every
night,
3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a
solemn sound.
This is about worship on the Sabbath Day, now called the Lord’s Day, it should not be a day
where we only refrain from work, but it should be a day where we worship the lord from
morning until night.
I know many people believe that the Sabbath is on a Saturday, but it's not; if you read the New Testament, you will see that the Father changed it first by raising Jesus from the dead on a Sunday. That’s why we go to church on Sunday to honor the resurrection of our lord, and secondly, one of the many revelations of Paul was to begin to teach that.
1 Cor. 16:2
1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
Acts 20:7
7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul
preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
Ephesians 1:3
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Ephesians 2:6
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Heavenly places are not only about getting to Heaven someday; it is also about the Prosperity
of Worship where a person is raised to Heavenly places in one’s inner spirit as he worships our Father.
Prosperity of Hope
When we as Christians have a Prosperity of Hope, we will have very few disappointments in life, where we feel let down or frustrated because what we expected to happen didn’t happen. Prosperity of hope will take these feelings away.
2 Thessalonians 2:16
6 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath
given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace.
The word good here is the quality of good a person has received from God; since the good in
our Father includes the idea of prosperity, this verse refers to a believer having a quality of
Prosperity of Hope. This is an eternal consolation or hope, such as the goal of hope for a
believer on earth is heaven.
1 Corinthians 9:10-18
10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that
ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.
11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
12 If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
13 Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the
temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?
14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
15 But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying
void 16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
Here Paul shares from his own experiences that those who both plant the seed of the Gospel
and those who harvest the fruit of the gospel should do it in hope. He also believed that those who preached the Gospel should receive their income for living from those who heard them preach the Gospel.
Matthew 10:10
10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman
is worthy of his meat.
The Lord also had Paul include one of his opinions in this matter; he believed that since he
could provide for his own needs through his trade of tint making he should not take any money for his living expenses from those to whom he preached.
Why did Paul feel that way? He did not want to come off as appearing more concerned about
material things than he did about the prosperity of spiritual things.
Now let me share a truth with you on the one hand, it is still the will of the Father that we live
that way, and on the other hand, our Father agrees with the concern of Paul; if he didn’t, he
would not have allowed him to state it in the word. Our Father does not want it to appear that
we are more concerned about material prosperity than we are spiritual, and ministers are
emphasizing the wrong thing when they are continually talking about how many cars they got
diamonds, rings, and houses, when they teach about giving.
If you notice when the world teaches about money and wants to sell their material on T.V.
that’s what they do, then they flash all of their cars and houses on the T.V. set and the spirit of
greed tries to get a whole on people.
Prosperity of Love
In this end time, there will be people who will realize that having Prosperity of Love is more
important than prosperity of money, but for some, it will be too late.
In these scriptures, the first two define the Prosperity of Love, and the others are examples of
Bible people with Prosperity of Love.
Psalm 100:5
5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Mercy is a part of love, and love is a part of the goodness of God. Since the word good includes the idea of prosperity you remember, one of the meanings of this verse is that there is such a thing as the Prosperity of Love.
1 John 4:7-8
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
It is important to note that our Father is love, not love is our Father, what’s the difference The
real quality of love is our Father. Thus, a born again Christian can have Prosperity of Love to the degree that one knows and has fellowship with our Father.
Let’s look at some people who have prosperity of love.
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The most important example is our Father. He is so prosperous in his love that he can give his
full love to all the angels and all who become Born Again. Even our father loves all other people even though they do not return love to him.
16 And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom : and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.
17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations
of the earth shall be blessed in him?
19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom : but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.
23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the
wicked?
24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not
spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?
25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
26 And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.
27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto
the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:
28 Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.
29 And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty’s sake.
30 And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.
31 And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty’s sake.
32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake.
33 And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham:
and Abraham returned unto his place.
Abraham had enough love to intercede in prayer for the wicked city of Sodom.
Genesis 37:25-28
25 And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a
company of Ishmeelites came from Gilead with their camels bearing spicery and balm and
myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt.
26 And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood?
27 Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content.
28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up
Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they
brought Joseph into Egypt .
Joseph had enough love that he could continue to love his brothers even though they sold him into slavery.
Esther 8;
Esther had enough love for her people, that she was willing to risk loosing her life so many of
her people would not be killed.
Job 1:21-22
21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the
LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
Job of the Old Testament had so much love for our Father that even though he lost his children and possessions, he still worshipped our Father.
Daniel 6:16
16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of
lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he
will deliver thee.
Daniel had so much love from our Father. Even though this meant that he was placed in a lion’s den, he was still faithful to our Father.
Acts 7:60
60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to
their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
Deacon Stephen had so much love from our Father that he forgave those who were stoning him to death
Genesis 37:3
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age:
and he made him a coat of many colours.
Prosperity of Truth
In the area of our five senses, this is the area where we refer to scientific facts, which do not
help us as spirit beings. Truth is what helps us as spirit beings, so there is a difference between scientific facts and truth. Truth is more than a collection of knowledge of a group of scientific facts.
John 14:6
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father,
but by me.
1 John 5:6
6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water
and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
Since Christ our Lord and the Holy Spirit are one with our Father, these two verses means that
truth is our Father Son, and Holy Spirit. Truth is the only reality that exists. Listen all other spirit beings, human beings, other life forms, and material things all come from truth. Scientific facts have importance, but these facts are not reality or truth. The only truth in existence is a
person, Our Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Genesis 2:7
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the
breath of life; and man became a living soul.
When the father created angels, they were created so that they could receive truth and have
fellowship with truth. The only other beings that can receive truth are us
When God created Adam, he made a body for him and placed that spirit that was in his image
into that body so he could have fellowship with truth.
Of course, you know that all of us are in the image of Adam; after he sinned all of his flaws and the quality of darkness that was in him passed on to us, and he could no longer have fellowship with truth. We were designed to live and move and function off of continuous truth; the more truth we receive, the more we become like our fathers.
Through the shed blood of Jesus of our father he restored us to a position of faith where we
could receive truth and have fellowship with truth. As we look into the mirror of truth, we
become what we behold.
John 8:32
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
To the degree we receive truth and have fellowship with truth, we have Prosperity of
Truth. Time is a factor here; to have meaningful fellowship with someone, you must spend
time with them. We must spend time with God's head and the body of Christ to have a
prosperity of truth.
Prosperity of Peace
The mystery about peace is this, and it may sound strange, but the bible teaches it; for instance, Angels know the meaning of an enemy because they are doing spiritual warfare all the time with the enemies of our Father, Satan, and demons. Satan and demons chose to be enemies of our father and the other angels, but they did not choose to be enemies with them. They resist them as we are told to because they are trying to destroy the things of God, they do not choose them to be their enemies because that would mean we and they should hate Satan and demons as well as people.
Listen, is you consider a person an enemy, you will soon begin to develop some hate for them, and that hate will destroy your inner peace; even though you know someone who chooses to be your enemy you cannot choose to be theirs.
Now, the prosperity of peace is not something that will bring an end to all wars; this will not
happen until the Great Millennium.
John 4:4
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
1 John 2:15-17
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Romans 8:7
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
First of all, we who are sinners and those who are committing sins are enemies of our Father,
along with Satan and demons. Of course, when one becomes a believer, they are no longer an enemy of our Father. We Christians, through the gift of faith, receive the quality of peace from our Father; the more we remove sinful activities, sinful feelings, and sinful thoughts from our lives the more prosperous our peace becomes.
John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Since our Father and the Godhead are one and yet three, Jesus had a quality of peace that he
could give to each of his disciples. The Holy Spirit has the same quality of peace he can provide to each born-again believer. Those who receive it are no longer enemies of ours and are at peace with their individual consciences. It becomes prosperous when we have an inner calm despite troubling things around us.
Ephesians 2:14-16
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
The peace that the Holy Spirit gave to the church when it started enabled the Jews and well as gentiles to become unified as the body of our Lord. The unity of believers is one result of the Prosperity of Peace.
Prosperity of Meekness
Mathew 5:5
5 Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.
The word earth refers to the land or ground of planet Earth. In the Millennium, we will possess
this land. It also refers to the benefits we receive from this ground; they come to us as an
inheritance from our Father, and like our natural fathers give us inheritance, so our Heavenly
Father divides his benefits of planet earth to us
Plus, he divides them to us according to this scripture through the humility that we receive
from the measure and gift of faith we received when we were born again. This is why it is
important for us to have prosperity and meekness.
Leviticus 20:24
24 But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a
land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people.
God told Moses that they would possess this land as an inheritance.
Joshua 3:9-17
9 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel , Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD
your God.
10 And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.
11 Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan .
12 Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man.
13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear
the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the
waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down ; and they shall stand upon
an heap.
14 And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people;
15 And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)
16 That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the
plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against
Jericho.
17 And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.
Because of Israel's meekness that was displaced when they obeyed our Father, he began to give them the land as an inheritance. Then a problem developed some of them began to worship other gods along with our father, and some difficulties arose in their possessing the land because they no longer had the prosperity of meekness.
This is very important because our father uses it to give us an inheritance of the prosperity of
the material things of this planet that he has planned for our earthly inheritance. So we see up
until now that prosperity and faith are about much more than financial prosperity.
Prosperity of Compassion
When you put more importance on spiritual things such as taking care of your family even
though that requires money, you don’t lose focus and begin to pursue money even though it
may be in short supply, this is an example of the Prosperity of Compassion.
Hebrews 4:14-15
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
The Lord was willing to give up all the riches in heaven to come down to deliver us, to become the blood sacrifice and experience everything we humans experience in our body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
While on the earth the quality of compassion for him was more important than material things.
Don’t get me wrong; God has no problem with a believer having prosperity in material
things. But he does become concerned when a believer becomes more concerned about the
prosperity of material things than he or she is about the Prosperity of Compassion.
1 John 3:17-19
17 But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his
bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him
18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and intruth.
19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
When we see someone whom we can share our worldly goods within their need we should, but the Father is more concerned that we share empathy in our hearts along with our worldly
goods. Compassion is more than giving money to another person, it is also sharing oneself with that person, if you do not have any more to share you can still share yourself, as Peter
did. How much money you share is not a measure of your compassion and love neither is how much our Father prospers to us financially a measure of his compassion and love for us.
Prosperity of Finances
This is a much debated and hot issue among believers some believe that every believer should be satisfied with their basic physical needs of life being met. Even others teach that Christians are to prosper financially so that they can give to the work of God and feed the hungry. Still, others teach that it is okay to prosper financially as long as one’s desire for money is not more important than seeking our Father.
I believe they all are correct but the key thing is to keep each one in perspective and to learn
which one if not all are best for you because some cannot for instance keep the desire for
money to the level where it cannot become the dominant factor in their life.
Understand that you may not be able to do that now and realize that stay where you are safe
where you want put your spiritual life in jeopardy or your salvation because the bible teaches
that some turn away from the faith pursuing money.
John 1:2
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul
prospereth.
John wrote this in such a way by the spirit that it means that our Father wants to bless us with
prosperity of material things and good health. The term prosperity of health is a proper term
according to proverbs. The prosperity of one’s soul should take place first.
This is why we have been taught eight ways we can prosper in our soul, happiness, worship,
hope, love, truth, peace, meekness, and compassion.
In concentrating on the prosperity of the soul you are putting the emphasis on getting the
weeds out of the soil of your heart.
Psalm 85:12
12 Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
The word good in this verse refers to the spiritual blessings our Father gives to his children out of his good or happy heart. Our fathers plan is when this happens then a child of his can
receive prosperous blessings from the land.
Matthew 13:22
22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of
this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
There are those who teach that if a believer sows a seed faith offering into the ground of a
good ministry our Father will bless with a prosperous harvest of material blessings.
Now listen to what I am about to say before this can happen the one who is planning to sow
should be good ground or soil to receive the word of God,. notice I said the seed of the word
not money, this is taught in the parable of the Sower. If one receiving the word of our Father
has weeds in his or her spirit, the word of god cannot grow in that person’s spirit, in this case,
let's say the word concerning giving offerings or gifts.
The Lord describes the weeds as deceitfulness of riches. That is doing the wrong things to get money or having the wrong idea about money.
Giving just to get alone is not the formula for the prosperity of material things; true prosperity
is not seeking things but the kingdom. As your soul prospers it makes the seed which is the
word fruitful in your life, we are not waiting to harvest seed but fruit when it comes back into
our hands it becomes both fruit and seed again.
There is one important thing about prosperity we should understand spiritual prosperity
strengthens the angels, and financial prosperity does nothing for them only us. Because the
wrong doctrine concerning prosperity is being preached, Christians think that they don’t have
the true meaning of life because they don’t have enough money and in order to get it you must buy it. Many will not admit it but that is the message that comes from the world and that is the message that is coming from so many churches and ministries today.
Deuteronomy 8:1-4
1 All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may
live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your
fathers.
2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
4 Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.
Deuteronomy 29:5
5 If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall
not marry without unto a stranger: her husband’s brother shall go in unto her, and take her to
him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband’s brother unto her.
When the Father brought Israel out of Egypt he attempted to teach them through the journey
in the wilderness that they needed more than physical food for meaningful life. Secondly,
through miracle, he took care of their clothing needs and food, he even did miracles for those
who did not have shoes their feet did not even swell in the desert.
Notice that God began to teach them how to prosper in the wilderness; one way was in the way he told them to collect the manna. There was the potential we could say to be prosperous in manna because it laid around two plus million people on the ground every morning. But god only told them to take what was needed and that was in accordance to the number in the family.
So, the question was how much he gave to the church in the wilderness and how much they
could keep for themselves. You see we still need a daily portion of spiritual manna to have a
meaningful life.
The problem with all of our fallen nature is we have a tendency that once we begin to enjoy
material things, we want more material things. The danger is that some may begin to give
more priority to enjoying the prosperity of material things than they do daily eating the spiritual manna of his word.
John 4:32-34
32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
When Christ was living on the earth he was more concerned about spiritual food than he was
about physical food.
Revelation 2:17
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
As long as a believer is living in a physical body on the earth, we should give priority to the
hidden manna, that is both the living and written word.
It is god’s will that we give a prosperous Christian heritage to our children. Let me ask you a
question: if you sowed a seed faith gift into a ministry and God responded with a large sum of
money in your life, what would you do with It.?
Now, I know what some of you would like to say you would do with it, but you know you are
only lying to yourself; look at what you are doing with the little you have now remember the
word says who that is faithful in little will be faithful in much. God doesn’t train us with much
but with little.
This is what you should do go and worship to get the mind of God, realize that he gave that
money to his church through you, and when I say church, I don’t necessarily mean a building,
secondly tithe, and third give some to family and other ministries. Now some of these things I
said you know you must do but I would first ask the lord what he wants me to do with it and if
he wants me to keep any portion of it for myself. Now, remember in our discussion, we want to
bring balance to all viewpoints
Joshua 5:12
12 And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.
Notice the changes that our father made after they came into the land, it was their source of
food supply. But remember the pattern the father started only take what was needed, when
they did that there were never poor, middle class, or rich. He was trying to teach them
balance. There is nothing wrong with having more but if you don’t know balance you will
overdo it.
What brought about the change I mean in status among the people they continued to worship
God, but also at times they worshipped other gods. When they needed money to buy idols and items of idol worship, they began to take more from the material prosperity than what they needed to meet their daily needs.
Genesis 31:19-35
19 And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father’s.
20 And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.
21 So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead.
22 And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.
23 And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days’ journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead.
24 And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
25 Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tentin the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead .
26 And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword?
27 Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?
28 And hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? thou hast now done foolishly in so doing.
29 It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
30 And now, though thou wouldest needs be gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father’s house, yet wherefore hast thou stolen my gods?
31 And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, Peradventure thou wouldest take by force thy daughters from me.
32 With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.
33 And Laban went into Jacob’s tent, and into Leah’s tent, and into the two maidservants’ tents; but he found them not. Then went he out of Leah’s tent, and entered into Rachel’s tent.
34 Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel’s furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not.
35 And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched, but found not the images.
Our Father does give financial prosperity to us, our Lord’s Church. But there are some things
we need to remember, first of all, God is the owner of everything, we are just stewards, not
owners. Secondly, the covenant of prosperity is one that our Father made with his Old
Testament church, not with the individual people in the Old Testament church. (Due. 29 :1) (2
Chronicles 24:20) (Neh. 2:20)
Thirdly, when our Father shares financial prosperity with his church through one of us born-
again believers, one should always seek his guidance about how much of that prosperity our
Father wants that person to keep for himself.
This was the pattern of our Lord; there was prosperity in his ministry, but he did not spend
much on himself. According to Matthew 8:20. Notice Luke 19:8
Here is another bible example to consider: when the rich man became a Christian, he made
some decisions about the prosperity of money he had. He realized that the money was our
father's and he needed to decide how much he should keep for himself. The Holy Spirit
directed him to make the following decision about his money.
First, the Holy Spirit helped him decide to give half of his prosperity to the poor. Secondly,
while being a tax collector, he became rich by collecting the amount of taxes, more than the
amount of taxes through deceit, and by investing his money. He helped him decide to give back fourfold any money he had gained through deceit by being a tax collector.
He had him think about a law of retribution written in Ex. 22:1. and the amount he took
through deceit.
Psalm 73:12
12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches
Job 12:6
6 The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand
God bringeth abundantly.
We need to remember that God is not the only one who can see that people prosper financially. Satan can help those who worship him or follow him to grow financially. We should always live a life of faith and hope that we don’t give Satan any opportunity to prosper us when should only receive it when it comes from God.
I know some of you think the devil doesn’t bring Christian money; you don’t know the devil
then, if he can cause you to miss the mark he will, and you are probably not important enough
for him to fool with; it depends on the anointing that’s on you and the potential threat he sees.
When it comes to harvest one needs to remember it’s the seed that produces the plant, and it
is the plant that produces the fruit for harvest. Remember when Jesus cured the fig tree you
can have a plant or tree and no fruit.
Some teach that a sowing of seeds can result in financial prosperity. But in the word of god,
where it speaks of sowing seed in the Father, is speaking of the salvation of souls. I know many people are going to argue with me about this because they are making too much money the other way.
Now stop and think of what I just said what was the actual result of sowing seed in the ground
naturally, let's say an apple seed, a new apple, no a new apple tree, and from the tree an
apple. Stay with now; this is a very important this is a law. The seed becomes plants that
produce fruit. Here are some scriptures that speak of this concerning the saving of souls.
Matthew 13:18
18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
The parable's meaning is that as a born-again Christian, we are to be good soil into which our
Father can sow the seed of his word. Then you are to become a plant growing in the good
soil. As a plant, you are to produce fruit for a harvest. That is, the life you live and the witness
you speak are to become fruit, and when people receive this fruit, they will become a born-
again Christian. In this parable, the increase from the seed is the fruit of your life and witness
as a believer. The increase in this parable is not about financial prosperity, but about the
prosperity of our Father's word in your life.
Now take into consideration what I just said in retrospect to money you put the seed of god’s
word in your spirit that he will take care of you and meet all of your needs. Then, in obedience to this law of faith without works is dead, you find good ground to plant a seed, which is fruit from your hand to them; they take it plant it into the kingdom it now becomes seed on your account, god in turns blesses you not from the amount you gave but the obedience to his word first then by spiritual laws what you gave.
John 4:36-37
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
When you read the two verses of scripture before this you know this is about a believer sowing the seed of god’s word that you have received into your life. In the parable of the sewer, our father sows the seed into our life, in the parable we sow seeds into others' life. Sometimes we will see the seed we have sown in people's lives come up but most of the time we see seeds that were sowed by someone else, remember the word of god is also water.
I have said all this to say this when it comes to financial prosperity we are to give gifts of money and material things, not to sow seeds like you sow seeds of the word to get a harvest of souls.
Luke 6:38
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Now the last part of this verse is about using an honest measure. The parable that Christ used was that of a farmer giving some grain or fruit to someone. The bosom is the cloak between the shoulders that the farmer wore. The cloaks were designed so that the farmer could fill this area of his cloak with grain and fruit and carry it to some other place. Christ taught that if the farmer gave away the amount of grain or fruit to someone, our father would see that the farmer would receive in return more than his hand given away.
This is the set amount or the law of the spirit I was referring to. Now the word give in this verse is not the word for sow, it is a word that means to give a gift. A gift is some thing you give to another not expecting anything in return. So, this is different than sowing a seed expecting a harvest.
Let’s look at other places where the scripture speaks of financial prosperity.
Proverbs 19:17
17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. Giving to the poor is one way that you give to god’s church, when we do we are actually lending money to our Father, and when he pays back he does it with interest.
I Corinthians 9:10-11
10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.
11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
In these two verses, the Holy Spirit stated that our Father gives two things to those who are
faithful in doing things our father way. Firstly he supplies the seed of this word for us to
sow. When the seed of his word is sown there is a prosperous harvest of souls. Secondly, our
father supplies food. He supplies food for your needs through the efforts of your hands. Remember when our father's chosen people entered the Promised Land, they no longer ate manna from heaven, but they ate the fruit of the land. When you give gifts of money to our lord’s church our father responds with financial prosperity so that you can give more gifts of money to his church.
Now I am making a distinction by the spirit to try to stop something that is happening in the
body of Christ very severely right now: greed.
If you notice the distinction that is being made is between sowing the seed of our father’s word for a harvest of souls and giving gifts of money to our lord’s church for ministry. The lord wants to emphasize this rather than sowing seed faith offerings Is seed faith offerings wrong no, but it is grossly misunderstood in the body and when there is not the spiritual maturity to handle a thing there will be abuse.
The concern of the father now is the potential or the temptation of greed, sowing seeds of the
word for a prosperous harvest of souls does not have the potential of being a temptation of
greed. The giving of a gift is not a temptation to greed, because when you give a gift, you give it not expecting anything in return. If you are expecting something in return it is not a gift. The way our father planned for us to receive financial prosperity is to give gifts of money to Christ's church.
Jeremiah 9:23-24
23 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
He is saying we are not to glory in financial prosperity; we are to glory in understanding and
knowing our Father. The word understanding means the intellectual understanding of our
father. The word know means for you to know the ways of our Father. These become glory for you when you’re understanding and knowing results in a person-to-person relationship with our father.
Philippians 3:8
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
The word things mean the things of planet Earth which includes money. When Paul developed a person-to-person relationship now that is more than just getting saved. With our father, he no longer gave any priority to the things of this world. He knew he needed some money and things for survival, but other than that, he so devalued the things of this world that they were like something useless that needed to be thrown away.
He was concerned about a prosperous offering that he could give to the church for the
poor. Now what I just said is not the pattern for everyone, but this may be the father's will for
you alone with the plan he has for you. In other words, you need to seek God concerning
money.
I want you to remember one more thing concerning money or any prayer needed for the
matters. There are things in the order pattern of the planet that result in us having to wait for
things to happen. Such as the sunrise we wait for every morning, and the harvest a farmer
waits for once he has planted seeds.
Waiting develops patience and endurance in the Qualities of faith in us, the faith every person
has that is born into the world, the measure of faith that is given to you once you are born
again, and the gift of faith that is in you when you are filled with the spirit.
Secondly, there are times when you ask the Father for something in prayer for which he delays answering. The reason for this is the timing of your receiving the answer to your prayer is as important as the answer to your prayer. We only have a memory of some of the past of our lives and the present we are experiencing right now. But God knows not only the past and present of your life but also the future. So he has a better understanding of when the answer to your prayer would not only bless you but also do for Christ our lord’s church what he intended the blessing to do.
Remember it's not just about you, but you are a part of the kingdom and therefore connected to something much bigger than yourself.
